2004Company Founded. First Product: FlashPlayerControl
It quickly became clear that the market needed something else: a convenient component for developers that removed the limitations of Flash and added new capabilities. This led to the creation of our first product, FlashPlayerControl (oh, the naming brilliance of a young startup!), which made it easy to use Flash in Delphi, C++, and .NET applications. For many years, the product had no competitors and broke long-standing stereotypes. The principle of working with a small, fast, and efficient team—creating tools for developers and speaking the same language as our users—became the company’s core philosophy: "Tools for developers, created by developers."
2006Deleaker Launched
In 2006, Deleaker was born - a memory profiler for C++ applications. Its standout feature was seamless integration as a plugin into all popular development environments. But its killer feature was speed-especially important when profiling large, heavy applications.
2008BoxedApp Launched
The low-level approaches used in both FlashPlayerControl and Deleaker - working with machine code and user-mode hooks - turned out to be highly relevant in the application virtualization space. In 2008, we released BoxedApp, the first (and still, it seems, the only) SDK for developers that offered virtual file system and registry support for a wide range of use cases, including loading libraries from memory, protecting applications, using third-party components without registering them in the real system registry, and building sandboxes for tracking file system changes. It became clear that to move forward effectively, we needed to build on what we had already developed - and, more importantly, listen closely to our users, especially when they shared their real-world needs and challenges.
2014ArmDot Launched
BoxedApp gained popularity as a tool for protecting applications (though that wasn't its original purpose), which underscored how crucial software protection is for companies. This insight led to the release of ArmDot in 2014 - a .NET obfuscator and our first cross-platform product.
2025Today
Today, in 2025, Softanics serves over 1,000 companies around the world, providing solutions for application virtualization, memory and resource profiling, software protection, and licensing systems. We remain true to our philosophy: "Tools for developers, created by developers." And we're just getting started. New, highly relevant tools are on the way - this time for profiling Python and Java applications. Happy coding!
